Amid the speculation of second wave of Coronavirus in Bangladesh , Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque has inaugurated free antigen-based rapid testing in 10 districts to detect coronavirus.
“The antigen testing will be introduced in all the districts gradullay,” the Minister said this after inaugurating the programme through video conference at 11am on Saturday.
Health Secretary Abdul Mannan and Director General of the health directorate Prof ABM Khurshid Alam were also present. Abdul Mannan said mobile labs will be lunched within two to four days to increase the test number. Primarily, two mobile labs will be opened beside Askona and Diabari isolation centres.
The 10 districts are Jashore, Brahmanbaria, Gaibandha, Joypurhat, Madaripur, Meherpur, Munshiganj, Panchagarh, Patuakhali and Sylhet.
The government permitted antigen testing on September 17.
